This series of portraits and reportage photos was taken in an LGBTIQ+ shelter, Casa Frida, in a suburb of Mexico City. Casa Frida offers a safe space, shelter and community to a variety of people who come to live here temporarily because they have been evicted from their homes due to their sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, as well as survivors of (structural) violence. They live here until they can stand on their own two feet.
